Working with his father, Raj joined the construction industry as a labourer. In 1993, having gained full knowledge of all aspects of the plastering trade, Raj was asked to join the management team of PCSL.
Whilst working his way through the Company and familiarising himself with the day to day operation of every Department, Raj studied part-time to achieve ONC, BSc(Hons) and MA(Hons) qualifications.
In 2000 Raj was appointed Managing Director and has since overseen the implementation of new procedures and the introduction of new products.
He has “risen through the ranks” with a clear understanding of all aspects of the business. Believing that a successful business is created by a loyal and committed workforce, he strives to ensure that staff are given support and training to enable them to fulfil their potential.

Peter joined Stanmore from leaving University in April 2005 and studied, whilst working, for his MSc in Project Management at Greenwich University.
He initially trained as a Quantity Surveyor, and spent a stint of 12 months supervising out on site, focusing mainly on external façades. After gaining this valuable experience he moved back into the Commercial Department and worked as an Estimator and quickly progressed through the ranks, going from Senior Estimator to Pre-Contract Operations Manager in 2010 and gaining Membership of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) in the process.
Of January 2012 Peter was made Commercial Director, his responsibilities are the Estimating, Surveying and Technical Departments.
In February 2013 Peter was accepted as a Member of the Institute of Directors (IoD) and subsequently gained Fellowship of the CIOB in March 2013, marking a significant milestone in his career.
Matthew joined Stanmore in April 2008, having left college, as a trainee estimator measuring various types of projects. In November 2009 he started working on external facades which included measuring and pricing all elements of work to be carried out by Stanmore on site. March 2010 saw Matthew start pricing internal packages as well as the external facades, and soon he was pricing full internal and external packages.
In January 2012 Matthew became Estimating Manager overseeing the estimating department’s day to day running.
Matthew is also a graduate of Greenwich University, where he completed his BSc Hons Quantity Surveying & Consultancy Management degree.
Ben joined the Stanmore team as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor in September 2007. He started by working closely with a Senior Quantity Surveyor who helped him develop a well-rounded knowledge of the Quantity Surveying Role. He was enrolled on the Higher National Certificate part time course (HNC) and then went on to study a part-time degree in Quantity Surveying & Consultancy Management (BSc Hons) which was successfully completed in June 2013.
With greater exposure to the various trades carried out by Stanmore and dealing with an array of projects, he became a Quantity Surveyor in 2010. This eventually led to him becoming Surveying Manager in early 2012.
His current role at Stanmore Contractors Limited requires him to manage and oversee a team of approximately 10 Quantity Surveyors. His main responsibilities include the co-ordination and improvement of the Surveying processes as well as helping and guiding individuals.
Prior to joining Stanmore Monica worked for BT Accounts for over 20 years, the last 10 as a Finance Manager, responsible for telephone revenue collection with a team of 8 staff.
Monica Joined Stanmore in 1993 as a Finance Manager, firstly on a freelance basis and then was appointed a permanent position. Having set up the Credit Control section Monica soon after took over and developed the Accounts group to become a fully functional Finance Department with a team of 21 Staff, accounting for the Incomes and Expenditures of the Company.
In 2006, Monica gained the final level of accounting technician to become a full practising member of the AAT.
Dan started his working career at Stanmore, he initially trained as an apprentice Dry liner/Fixer in 2000 and spent 2 years learning the trade whilst also carrying out labouring duties. In 2002 Dan became a Fixer working alone carrying out first and 2nd fix of our metal stud partitions, wall linings and suspended ceilings.
In 2006 Dan became a trainee Site Supervisor and progressed in 2007 in to a carry out full supervisory role on site. Dan worked supervising site teams for the next 6 years until he became Contracts Manager in 2012 and progressed to become Senior Contracts Manager soon after.
Dan has since moved to head office and become Production Director overseeing all construction related site production departments relating to three of our main packages – Façade, metalwork and dry lining.
Paul left college in 1994 after gaining a HND in Business and Finance and went on to spend several years in Construction Product Sales.
Paul has worked in the Plant Hire, Construction Sealants, Insulation Manufacturing and the Drywall/Insulation Distribution sectors, providing a very good insight into his current role, gaining valuable product knowledge and experience in to how Stanmore’s suppliers operate.
Paul joined Stanmore in 2007 and is responsible for all pricing agreements with materials suppliers, both on annual deal and project specific basis. He also supports the Estimators and Surveyors in ensuring they have the best rates when pricing Tenders and sourcing new products when required. He has also recently taken on responsibility for the Façade Material ordering working closely with both the Designers, Construction Managers and Suppliers, to get the right materials to site both on budget and on time to achieve the Project Program.
MRes BSc (Hons) BioMed
Nikita joined Stanmore in August 2010 after finishing her degree as a biomedical scientist from UCLan. Being new to the industry, she began working as a Part-time Wage controller, however was quickly recognised to be a promising member of the team and offered a permanent full time position.
In January 2012, she was chosen to head up the Processing Team, which incorporated warehouse management, company machinery, pricing data input, transportation, contra charge-claims, and material cost control analysis.
After a short period of time, Nikita was promoted to Buying Manager in July 2015 making her responsible for Buyers, Processors, Invoice Checkers and Plant. Her main objectives are maintaining the smooth functioning of the Buying Department. ensuring sites are serviced with materials efficiently, developing structures within the team to encourage cost saving measures and affirming that suppliers give us the best service.
